Got questions?
We've got answers.
The essentials about Kuma, Ren, your data and the plans. No fine print.
Is Kuma free?
Yes. The Basic plan is free forever, requires no card, and includes budgeting, expense tracking, 10 Ren queries per month, 5 photo or voice entries per month, one shared expense group with up to 10 expenses, 3 Telegram messages per month, and tracking for up to 5 assets and 2 debts. The Pro and Premium plans raise those limits through a monthly or annual subscription.
Do I need to connect my bank account or share my banking passwords?
No. Kuma doesn't connect to banks or ask for banking credentials: you log your transactions by hand, by voice, with a photo of the receipt, or through Telegram. On Android you can optionally let Kuma read your bank's notifications so expenses get logged on their own.
How does automatic expense logging work, and on which devices is it available?
Android only. If you grant notification access, Kuma detects notifications from Google Wallet, from banking apps across Latin America and the U.S., and from SMS apps, and creates the expense already categorized by AI. On iPhone and on the web this feature is not available yet.
What is Ren?
Ren is Kuma's artificial intelligence assistant, a red panda who answers your questions about saving, debt and investing using your data in the app. He runs on OpenAI models through Kuma's servers, and on the Pro and Premium plans he can create expenses, income and goals right from the chat, always asking for your confirmation first.
Is my information secure?
Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security, travels encrypted over HTTPS, and sign-in uses email, Google or Apple with PKCE. On your phone you can lock the app with a PIN plus fingerprint or Face ID, and you can delete your account and all of your data from Settings.
What do you do with my data?
Kuma states that it does not sell your data or use it to train third-party AI models, and it does not store card numbers. The providers that process information are Supabase, RevenueCat, Apple, Google and OpenAI, some on servers in the U.S., under a privacy policy governed by Colombia's Law 1581 and by the GDPR where it applies.
Does it work in my country and in my currency?
The app is available in Spanish and English and lets you choose from 8 currencies: Colombian, Chilean, Mexican and Argentine pesos, U.S. dollar, euro, Peruvian sol and Brazilian real. Some features are Colombia-specific, such as CDT (fixed-term deposit) and loan rates; automatic logging on Android recognizes banking apps from Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Ecuador, Central America, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and the U.S.
Does it work for couples, families or groups of friends?
Yes, with group expenses: you create a group, invite people by code or link, note who paid and for whom, and Kuma calculates the balances and can simplify the debts so everyone settles up with the fewest transfers. The Basic plan gives you 1 group with up to 10 expenses; Pro goes up to 5 groups with 25 expenses each, and Premium has no limit on groups or expenses.
Is it on the App Store and Google Play? What about the web?
Yes. Kuma is available for iOS, Android and the web, and your account is the same across all three.
How much do the paid plans cost, and is there a free trial?
Pro costs USD 3.99 per month or USD 37.99 per year, and Premium USD 5.99 per month or USD 56.99 per year; the annual plan saves you 20%. Every paid plan includes a 3-day free trial on the App Store and Google Play, and the store shows it before you confirm. The exact price of each plan, in your currency, is displayed in the store when you subscribe.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Subscriptions are managed from your App Store or Google Play account and you can cancel at any time with no lock-in; refunds for store purchases follow Apple's and Google's policies.
Does Kuma give financial advice?
No. Kuma is a technology and information tool from Kuma Finances S.A.S, a company based in Bogotá, Colombia; it is not a financial institution, and neither the app nor Ren provides financial, legal or tax advice. It is intended for people 18 and older, and you can reach us at kuma_admin@kumafinances.com.
